Learning to get the body shape of animals is the first step, and probably the most difficult. But once you've got that down, you're ready to start adding the details that make drawings go from good to great. Drawing a good face is the best way to do just that.

Start off drawing 2 teardrop shaped things for the eyes.

Next, draw 2 evenly spaced lines near the bottom of the inside of each teardrop shape for the irises.

Now you can just draw 2 small circles about a centimeter above the irises. This is the detailed part of the eyes.

After you've done the sketch of the eyes you can do the nose. This is just an upside-down rounded-off triangle.

Inside of that triangle, draw 2 evenly spaced dots, nostrils, very small. But not so small you can't see it.

Now draw a line coming down from the nose coming down to the left in a curve, the same on the other side.

Add 3 dots in the curve of those parts.

If you look close, you will see an acute angle in between the curved lines. You may or may not draw a curved/straight line there and that will be colored pink.

Finally you're ready to outline. Use a sharp dark pencil (preferably ebony, but any kind will do.) to go around every line you've made.

Use a slightly lighter pencil to color in the eyes. You can use the scribble effect, or the outline and then color in effect.

Color the irises green or blue, in colored pencil if available. And leave the other circles white for detail.

Color the nose scribble black or full pink.

Finally, the angle on the mouth, if you added it, is pink/red. Or to be fancy make a red and pink shady gradient.
